Fund A Mom

OUR STORY

by Ellie Milner – Co Founder

Why We Fund Moms—Not Programs

Most poverty relief programs are designed by people who’ve never been poor. They come with conditions, restrictions, paperwork, and assumptions.

They give food—but not choice.
Shelter—but not freedom.
Advice—but not trust.

Fund A Mom was created to flip that script.

We believe that mothers living in poverty are already economic geniuses.
They don’t need to be saved.
They need to be trusted.

No strings. No bureaucracy. No one is deciding  for her.

Why $60 a Month?

Because that’s enough to make a difference—and to restore dignity.
It can mean:

Keeping a daughter in school

Buying asthma medicine for a child

Paying rent for a safe roof

Starting a tiny but powerful business

Eating every day

Most aid programs give one-off grants. We don’t.
We commit to five years of support, because poverty doesn’t end in a month—and hope takes time to rebuild.

Why Just Moms?

Because when you fund a mom, she funds a family.

Decades of global research prove this:
When mothers have money, they invest it in their children.
When mothers rise, entire communities rise with them.

And when you let a mom decide what’s best for her life?
She almost always gets it right.

This Is Not Charity. It’s Trust.

We don’t choose which moms get help—our on-the-ground partners do.
We don’t track or judge how they spend the money.
We don’t publish “before and after” photos for donor satisfaction.

We give. She decides. That’s it.

Because we don’t believe in fixing the poor.
We believe in funding the experts—and moms are the experts.
